CUSA affiliate, Amir AghaKouchak, was a key speaker during the Innovative Tools and Planning Methodologies Showcase at the 3rd annual Rising Seas Summit in Boston. The summit brings professionals together to highlight the interrelationships between sea level rise, climate change and extreme events.
Amir AghaKouchak is an Assistant Professor of Civil l and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. His research crosses the boundaries between hydrology, climatology, remote sensing to address critical global water resource issues. His long-term research objective is to utilize continuously growing satellite data along with ground-based observations to develop/improve integrated drought, flood and landslide modeling, prediction and decision support systems. Dr. AghaKouchak is the principal investigator of several research grants funded by the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA), National Science Foundation (NSF), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
