CUSA Research Associate Bemmy Maharramov is a contributing author of the newly published Solutions from the Land (SFL) Pathways Report, a national dialogue that aims to find synergistic new pathways for land management in light of the need to produce food, fiber and energy for a growing global population, resource depletion and climatic changes. SFL asserts that wise and innovative land management can bring great benefits to both producers and the environment. Maharramov was a SFL design team member and provided support to the development of the report, entitled “Solutions from the Land: Developing a New Vision for United States Agriculture, Forestry and Conservation.” The Report is a result of a three-year conversation that examines the land-based challenges of today and tomorrow, considers ways to galvanize interest in what happens on and to the land, and offers optional approaches to serve as the basis for the dialogue. SFL is co-chaired by AG Kawamura, Founding Partners of Orange County Produce, LLC, and former Secretary, California Department of Food and Agriculture, and Tom Lovejoy, Biodiversity Chair for the H. John Heinz III Center for Science, Economics and the Environment.
