Environment, Art, and Human Security (eARTh) Studio Director, Pamela Donohoo is also paving her way as an acclaimed aerialist, gymnast, dancer, and choreographer. The multifaceted wonder gives her network of followers a sneak peak of her upcoming performance at the Enlightened Theatre Women’s Collective, simply entitled, “Water Stories.”
The performance will take place on August 20th at Live Arts LA, as part of the event, “The Women’s Collective: Imagine a Woman.” The Women’s Collective is a night of synchronicity between the worlds of theater and dance, all the while furthering the complete definition of a woman. The sympathetic series is produced by playwright and choreographer, Ashlee Katrice Thomas, and “Imagine A Woman” is the culminating event of their Enlightened Theater Summer Series, which aims to have attendees, “leave with an enlightened view of themselves in relation to the female experience.”
Key words from Donohoo’s video teaser that boil anticipation for this upcoming unveiling include her piece’s focus on the power and synchronicity/interrelatedness of water and, “the importance of water and the power that water holds, and making a parallel between water and women, and thinking about women’s position when it comes to resources and resource acquisition, and thinking about our community, and how all of these things tie into our community and how they form, and in a sense destroy communities.”
